We're proud to provide our services here in the Pilbara region and across Western Australia, and we love ensuring our customers have the convenience and excellent service they deserve when they travel – whether for business or for pleasure.
The abundance of natural resources in this part of Australia and the proximity to the nearby port of Dampier make this an important destination for those travelling on business. Tourists and globetrotters love this part of the world too, thanks to the spellbinding wildness of the nearby Pilbara area. Almost 1,000 miles from Perth, Karratha demonstrates just how diverse and expansive Western Australia really is. To explore this place to the full, you're going to need a car!

Make your booking as early as possible to reserve the right vehicle at the right price.
At Avis, we want to ensure our Karratha Airport car rental services are available to everyone.
If you simply need to get from the airport to the city centre, one-way car hire is perfect. However, when you plan to spend a lot of time exploring Karratha, try one of our long-term car rentals. And to make sure you save money while hiring a car from us, try searching through car hire deals.
To provide you with an estimate, we need to know more about your hire period, the car you want, and how long you need it for. When you choose one of the rentals at Avis.com.au, you’ll save money no matter which option you choose.

Our Karratha Airport location is the only Avis branch in Karratha and is in fact the only location for car hire in the nearby area. We also have a branch at Port Hedland around 230km to the east, Onslow to the west, and Paraburdoo to the south, but all are several hundred kilometres away.
There are a number of petrol stations to the south of Karratha Airport, along the Dampier Highway. More are found further east in downtown Karratha itself.
There is a train station at the Dampier port area, and there are a number of short and long-distance bus stops in the town of Karratha.
There is plenty to see and do as you explore the local area. Avis' car rental options at Karratha Airport put all of this within reach.
Ngajarli – or Deep Gorge – and the Murujuga National Park are just northeast of the Dampier port and are well worth a visit.
A little further afield, the towns of Coral Bay and Exmouth are great for diving and exploring the ocean.
Port Hedland is less often visited, but the nearby waters are home to some very important aquatic life, and sea turtles have even been known to make nests on beaches near the city.
Excess Options
Excess Reduction (ER) or Zero Excess (ZE), available at participating locations, are optional coverages that further reduce the standard excess.
