Drivers License
At the time of rental, the driver must present a valid drivers license in the drivers name from their country of residence. License must have been held for a minimum of one year. Customers presenting a drivers license in a non-Roman alphabet must also present an International Driving Permit (IDP) to serve as a translation in addition to their valid drivers license.
Personal Accident Insurance
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
Covers the driver of the vehicle and personal items in the vehicle in the event of an accident. Personal Accident Insurance provides the following benefits:
- A maximum of EUR 20,124.00 in the event of death or permanent total disability caused by an accident
- A maximum of EUR 1,682.00 per accident towards medical expenses caused by an accident.
Normally EUR 4.06 per day (charged for a max 10 days to cover rental up to 30 days).
Public Liability and Property Damage
Public liability insurance is in accordance with the insurance laws of the country. Customer may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance.
Note: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles. The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental. Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival.
Additional Driver Policy
Additional Driver must meet the same requirement as the primary driver. Must be present at the time of pickup. The price is EUR 5.06 per day, maximum 10 day charge to cover rental up to 30 days.
After Hours Information
Out of Office Hours - Collection
It may be possible to collect the vehicle out of office hours. This must be requested at the time of booking. An extra fee will be applied.
This service is only available at airport locations and for offline bookings. At the time of booking, please provide us with your flight number and credit card details.
Meet Late Arrival
We will receive information about delayed flight if you provided us with your flight details. We will keep the car reserved for you and you need not pay extra when arriving late if the location is open. If you arrive outside of the opening hours, a Meet Late Arrival fee will be applied.
Out of Office Hours - Return
Depending on the location, a return out of hours might be available. This must be requested at the time of booking. Please note that if the vehicle is returned outside of office hours, the driver is liable for parking fees, damage or theft until the car has been inspected by a member of Budget staff.
Late Return
Unless agreed otherwise, the customer must return the vehicle and any optional extras at the time/date and location stated on their rental agreement. If the customer believes they will be late, it is in their best interest to request an extension from Budget. If the customer is late in returning their vehicle, they must pay for an extra day's rental for the vehicle and any optional extras plus a late return processing fee for each day/part of a day they are late.
Age Requirements
No minimum age. Driving license must have been held for minimum one year.
Fuel Policy
Returning the vehicle
Unless you agreed a different refuelling option (see below), you must return the vehicle to us with the same amount of fuel it had in it when you picked it up usually a full tank as shown on the factory-installed fuel gauge or automatically logged in respect of connected cars. We recommend you fill up as close to the return location as you can on the return date and keep the receipt to show us. If you don’t return the vehicle with a full tank and you can't show us a receipt for fuel we will charge you.
Refuelling options
Fuel Up Front - this is charged according to our valid price list at the start of your rental period as stated on http://www.avis.fi/en/pricelist . This is only available where you have added it as an option at booking stage, or asked to add it to your rental prior to you collecting the vehicle. If you have added this option, the cost will be on your Rental Agreement Form. However, you don't get a refund for any fuel you don't use.
Pay on Return - If you are renting a traditional fuel or hybrid vehicle, you will be required to pay for fuel so as to ensure that the vehicle has the same amount as when you collected it based on the factory-installed fuel gauge rounded down to the nearest eighth (1/8) of a tank (costs are based on the manufacturer's stated fuel tank capacity). We charge according to our valid price list at the end of the rental period.
Electric Vehicles
We charge a fixed amount dependent on the battery life showing on the factory-installed battery gauge. This is the "Pay on Return" rate. The amounts charged are set out below:

* Unless the vehicle had less than 70% battery charge when you collected it, in which case, you must return it with at least the same % battery charge as it had at time of pick-up in order for no additional costs to be applied.
Pick Up and Return
You must pick up your rental vehicle at the location and time stated in your booking confirmation. If you are late, please let us know beforehand. Many locations serve as Meet&Greet, which means that we only open for our customers.
If you fail to pick up the car and don't cancel the booking, we will charge you according to terms of cancellation as well as a No-Show fee.
Returns
The General Conditions provide more information about what happens if you want to extend your rental, or if you do not return the vehicle to us as agreed.
If the customer is late in returning their vehicle, they must pay for an extra day's rental for the vehicle and any optional extras plus a late return processing fee for each day/part of a day they are late.
Travel Into Other Countries
Unless we agree otherwise, you are only allowed to use the vehicle in:
- Norway
- Sweden
- Denmark
- Estonia
This is on a request basis only, please check cross border availability by contacting our Reservation Centre. A border crossing fee will apply - please see our Price list for Additional Services here. This must be requested 7 days prior to departure.
Please note that if you are permitted to take the vehicle outside of Finland, it is your responsibility to make sure you comply with legal requirements applicable in the relevant country/countries you travel in.
