    • Driving distance will vary depending on weather and road conditions. Extreme hot or cold weather will reduce driving range. Large hills will reduce driving range.

Other EV Features

Other features to note which apply to Avis Electric Vehicles:

  • Entry to the vehicle can only be made using the Tesla Key Card provided when you rent an Electric SUV. The Tesla App is not compatible with Avis rental vehicles.
  • An AC trickle charging cable is supplied with the vehicle. This cable can be found in the bottom compartment of the car boot.
  • Tesla Autopilot / Self-Driving mode is not available in Avis Electric vehicles.

Yes, we've put some simple instructions together for you here along with links to more detailed videos and instruction. When you rent an electric vehicle with us, we'll also email you access to these instructions before you pick-up your car.

Apple Maps or Google Maps are great tools to locate most paid and free charging stations across Australia. Using these apps, you can even add a charging stop in your trip planning and filter 'charging stations' to only include fast chargers and your required plug type.

At some charging stations, you may need your own account to be set up with the charging provider via their smart phone app. We've included links for some of the most well-known charging provider apps here.

If you have a breakdown, a flat tyre, locked the Tesla Key Card in the car, lost the Tesla Key Card or run out of charge, please call Roadside Assistance on 1800 063 973.
Please let the team know it is a Tesla you are driving.

To avoid additional charges for Roadside Assistance support, we recommend you purchase Roadside Assistance or one of our Coverage Packages. If you’re not covered by Roadside Assistance or one of our Coverage Packages, a call-out fee of $255.62 will apply for non-mechanical and customer at fault Roadside Assistance.

To avoid additional fees, please charge your Electric SUV to at least 77% before returning. We've outlined the applicable charging fees in our Avis Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions.

Unfortunately, due to our own charging infrastructure at locations, Avis Electric SUV rental is not available for one-way rentals. You are required to pick-up and return the car to the same location.
