Whatever trip I’m taking, I like to start them all off on the right foot. Yep, that’s accelerating out of town in the latest model Avis car. But first stop, coffee. Fuelled up and ready to go, we stumbled upon the incredible Sturt Highway lookout, followed up by the equally stunning Lake Bonney. That’s road tripping done right.
Day 2 was all about the famous Murray River. In the morning, we went on the luxurious Frame boat tour, then made a day of it with an impromptu picnic on the riverfront. Now, Renmark might be home of the houseboat, but their pantry sure is full of some great food and wine.
So on the third day, we let our tastebuds take the lead. The Mallee Estate lunch really hit the spot, as did the sunset supplies from Almond Co, Angove Winery and the Riverland Wine Centre.
After 3 days full of joy, and food, it was time to head home. But with so much more to explore, we’ll definitely be back. You should visit too.
